Last night, our Trimble representatives were joined by some of our biggest customers, BT and British Gas, to attend the Fleet Safety Awards as Trimble took on the role as headline sponsor at this year’s prestigious event. Run by Brake, the road safety charity, the awards recognise the achievements of those working to help reduce the number of road crashes involving at-work drivers in the UK. The awards also present the opportunity to bring together fleet operators and suppliers to celebrate, network and share best practice in managing road risk.
Richard Beecroft, Account Director for Trimble gave a great opening speech addressing the need to improve driver safety to achieve a ‘zero road deaths’ vision as well as highlighting the amazing work that Brake does on-a daily basis to help victims of road crashes.
With the award categories spanning, Company Driver Safety, Fleet Safety Innovation, Fleet Safety Partnership and Fleet Safety Product, to name a few, Richard was on hand to present the awards to each worthy winner.
Trimble has been a supporter of the Brake charity for many years and constantly strives to promote a safe driving culture amongst its customer base through its Driver Safety solutions. Hardware and software monitors driving behaviour, offering real time feedback to the driver and providing complete back office analysis of aggressive manoeuvres, such as hard acceleration, braking, turns and speed. With this data at hand, drivers can instantly change their driving style and recommendations on training can be made for individual drivers, resulting in lower accidents and liability therefore helping to manage the risks associated with at-work driving.
Richard Kent, Enterprise Account Director at Trimble, shared the following words, “We are honoured to support the Brake Fleet Safety Awards in their ongoing mission to promote driver safety and reduce the number of incidents involving at-work drivers. The awards are a great way to celebrate and recognise those who demonstrate superior safety practices, many of which are Trimble customers. We are committed to working alongside organisations like Brake and our valued customers to continue development of technology designed to improve fleet safety.”
The awards took place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday 11 October 2018.
